Edward A. Piasta is an Atlanta personal injury lawyer and managing partner of Piasta Walker Hagenbush, LLC. Ed has a nationwide trial practice, where he advocates for innocent victims and their families suffering from someone else’s negligence or wrongdoing. His practice involves premises liability, insurance bad faith, motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, commercial accidents, workplace accidents, and other serious matters. As an experienced car accident attorney in Atlanta, Ed has handled numerous auto accident cases involving serious injuries or damages. Ed also represents businesses in commercial disputes and business torts across Atlanta, Georgia.

In 2018 and 2019, Ed and Mike Walker had back-to-back Fulton County Daily Report Top Verdicts, including the Fulton County Daily Report’s Number One ranked premises liability verdict in Georgia for 2018. In that case, the defendant did not offer any money to the plaintiffs before trial. In 2022, their trial team secured another record verdict in Dooly County ($3.75M) in a case no one thought they could win. In 2023, Ed, Mike, and Andrew tried a premises negligent security case where the insurer broke out the checkbook mid-trial to pay 250% of the policy limits after not offering a dime for years. In 2023, the team also secured recoveries of $19 Million and $10 Million for clients in premises liability cases. Since 2021 alone, for the team’s clients have amassed over $100 Million in recoveries.  

Results oriented, Ed has taken on the largest corporations and trucking companies in the nation on behalf of his clients. He believes in “swinging hard, but always fairly” and conducts himself “with the utmost sense of professionalism.” Brannen as Tr. of 1996 C. Bishop Brannen III Irrevocable Tr. v. In addition to his law practice, Ed serves in the military. Since 2006, Ed has served in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, now with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During “the Surge” in Iraq, Ed earned the Bronze Star Medal for his efforts in support of combat operations. He also served another tour to Iraq in 2018, serving as the general counsel for the 201st Regional Support Group. There, he was responsible for supervising three legal offices at different bases located across Iraq. He currently serves as the Chief of Military Justice (or chief prosecutor) for the Georgia Army National Guard. Ed has also been selected to attend the prestigious United States Army War College.  

Ed is an elected member of the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors. He is also a graduate of the statewide leadership program, Leadership Georgia.  

Ed is regularly selected for “Super Lawyers,” which is an organization that recognizes no more than five percent of attorneys in Georgia. 

Ed obtained his Juris Doctor cum laude in 2005 from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he was a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society and graduated in the top 10% of his class. For his undergraduate degree, Ed graduated cum laude from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, majoring in history and minoring in military science and political science. 

Ed is married to Kristie Edenfield Piasta. Kristie is also an attorney practicing at Piasta Walker Hagenbush, LLC. The couple has two children, William and Joseph. The family resides in Atlanta, and are members of the parish Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.
